Athletic Trainers

Zach Kavo has been an athletic trainer at Mifflin County High School since 2013.  He received his Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from Penn State in 2011 and then received a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012.  After graduating from Penn State, he interned at Radford University, where he worked primarily with the men's soccer and baseball teams.  Prior to coming to Mifflin County, he was a seasonal athletic training intern with the Denver Broncos during the 2012 season.  He is a Graston Technique Specialist, as well as a Corrective Exercise Specialist.  He is employed by Geisinger.

Alison Krajewski has been an Athletic Trainer for 25 years.  She completed her Bachelor’s degree at PSU and completed her Master’s degree at Louisiana State University. She then went on to work at Baylor University for 4 years before moving back to State College and working in the State College Area School District for 17 years where she worked mainly with football, basketball and lacrosse.  She then accepted a position at St. Joe's Catholic Academy before coming to Mifflin County in August of 2023. Alison is also an instructor for Penn State teaching Athletic Training courses and Medical Terminology courses.

Richard Tronolone joined Mifflin County School District in February 2024. He joins MCSD after spending last year with Rutgers’ football team and almost five years at Princeton University previously as an athletic trainer for the football, men’s and women’s fencing, women’s swimming and diving, and softball teams. Richard was responsible for all health care aspects of the teams listed above.  He also oversaw the athletic medicine department football inventory and AEDs. During the pandemic, he was reassigned to the Global and Community Health Team at the University; assisting with daily testing and communication to staff and students in regards to quarantining, isolation and returning to campus.

 

Prior to Princeton, he spent less than 2 years at Athletico Physical Therapy as an outreach athletic trainer at a local high school and DIII Benedictine University. He worked primarily with the Eagles football, men’s volleyball, and men’s lacrosse teams. He spent the 2016 season with the NFL’s New York Jets as a seasonal athletic trainer.


Prior to his time in the NFL, he attended graduate school as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Michigan State University with the Spartan men’s and women’s cross country/track and field teams and football team. He graduated with his master’s in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training in 2016.
 

The Aurora, IL native earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA in 2012. He also holds additional certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist.
